This week’s book is Brown Bear, Brown Bear by Bill Martin and Eric Carle.
This quintessential childhood favourite begins by asking “Brown Bear, what do you see?” Brown Bear tells the reader what she sees (a red bird), and then the author uses this concept of repeating the question to different animals throughout the book.
When reading the book aloud, children have lots of opportunities to join in. The book focuses on using rhythmic and repetitive text throughout, while the illustrations are a combination of bright eye-catching colours.
All in all, a great addition to your child’s library.
