This week’s book is Sadie and the Snowman by Allan Morgan.
In this charming winter story, a little girl named Sadie excitedly builds her first snowman only to have it melt into a pile of slush while watching neighbourhood critters eat it’s its cookie eyes and apple nose. She rebuilds him every chance she gets and as the weather gets warmer, she shelters him from the sun. But he is slowly melting away and she can’t keep him cold forever.
Like Sadie, children can always rebuild their dreams—the animals may steal your red licorice smile and carrot nose, and sun melt the winter away but the snow will always fall again.
