Ready to Learn (RTL)

Held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons, Pearson’s exclusive Ready-to-Learn (RTL) program is a more structured preschool experience with additional learning elements such as formal French language classes, fitness programming, and music classes. There is a strong emphasis on early literacy in the RTL class, which utilizes the Jolly Phonics program. Children practice skills such as letter and word recognition, phonics and printing. For more information on the RTL program, please contact the school.

Ready to Explore (RTE)

Running Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, RTE is a concepts-based program with monthly modules that include Science, Cooking, Music and Movement, Let’s Create, and more. Much like our popular RTL program, RTE offers a more structured preschool experience with a smaller class size and a strong emphasis on literacy. Children will enjoy all of the benefits of Pearson Community Co-op Nursery School, including outdoor play time and a healthy snack, as well as more focused learning. To learn more about this program, please contact the school.

Co-op Responsibilities

At a co-op, parents are an integral part of the operation of the school. In addition to our teaching team, Pearson Community Co-op Nursery School is administered by a parent executive board and run by parent committees. As a member of Pearson Co-op, each family has a committee responsibility or is a member of the executive, and must attend three General Meetings throughout the school year. There is no in-class volunteer requirement in our afternoon programs. The school is licensed by the Ministry of Education and adheres to all regulations within the Child Care and Early Years Act.
